Piston
Dry running piston pump. The piston moves within the cylinder drawing air through inlet valve and expelling through outlet valve. Simple rugged design which provides high pressure and low maintenance.

Centrifugal force creates small vortices of air that are drawn by the blades from the intake to the exhaust. Available in single stage high volume and two stage high pressure versions
The rotor rotates eccentrically within a cylindrical body. The rotor has grooves into which the vanes are free to slide. During operation centrifugal force pushes the vanes out into contact with the body. This creates closed spaces between the blades that gradually increase the volume by bringing in air from the container to be emptied and expelling it through the exhaust. If used as a compressor, the air drawn in from the environment is conveyed to the exhaust to be used.

Claw pumps run contactless and without the need for any lubrication which makes them a dry pump. The internal claws of the pump are synchronized by gears without the need for any lubrication in the pumping chamber. This avoids any residue generated by friction or touching during rotation. The gears are lubricated with oil but enclosed in two compartments.
Claw Pumps offer high energy efficiency and lower power consumptions and guarantee lower operating costs than standard rotary vane pumps. Maintenance is also minimized and the level of performance is maintained for longer by virtue of the lack of friction between the moving parts.
All versions can be used as vacuum pumps or compressors.
Applications:
Environmental, Food and Beverages, Medical, Packaging, Pneumatic Conveying, Wood Working, Glass and Marble Handling, Plastic, Rubber and Resin
The operating principle is similar to oil lubricated rotary vane, however the rotor is immersed in oil which also has a function of sealing any air leaks. The vacuum levels achieved therefore by this type of unit are therefore considerably higher than standard rotary vane units.
A gas ballast is also present to stop condensation of any water vapour. This type of pump can be made up of a single rotor unit (single stage) or a twin rotor twin body unit connected in series (two stage). The exhaust of the first of the 2 bodies is connected to the second body so to attain a lower absolute pressure compared to single stage.
Applications:
Laboratory and Research, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Freeze Drying
The ability to provide complete systems as a solution to our customers requirements has always been part of the Vacuum Pumps UK mantra. This can be as little as a valve and filter fitted to a unit, right through to a fully centralised and automated vacuum and pressure system for a complete factory.
The VacAir Superstore Technical and Engineering team have always approached each new systems enquiry with an open mind to ensure we fully understand our customers needs. By combining the expertise and experience gained from previous system builds, along with up to date knowledge of the best and most efficient components, Vacuum Pumps UK can engineer tailored solutions to meet our customers needs and provide the most efficient system in terms of capital cost/rate of return, energy efficiency and latest legislative requirements.
Applications:
Printing central systems, Packaging central systems, Lifting, holding, clamping, Impregnation/resin infusion vacuum bagging, Conveying, Hospital and medical systems Food packaging, Ground Remediation, and many more
